This illustration is of Lewes Castle in East Sussex.  Lewes Castle is one of the oldest castles in the England, having been built more than a thousand years ago. The Castle is one of the most visited attractions in Lewes where you are able to climb up the steep steps inside the keep for a wonderful view of the rooftops, the River Ouse and the surrounding valleys.
