The North Laine, Brighton, East Sussex

Lisa Holdcroft is a local Artist based in Brighton - her style is very much her own, with her unfussy, colourful illustrations capturing so much fun and detail.

This illustration is of Gardener Street in the North Laines, Brighton.  The area can be found between Brighton Station and the Royal Pavilion.  In the 1970's it was nearly demolished, but locals fought to save it and it became a conservation area.  The streets are full of colour and are home to lots of little independent businesses - often with an ethical vibe.  This greeting card features The Komedia in Gardener Street, which is a very popular and well known arts and entertainment destination.
